The Louisiana Forest Products Community is an innovative website that facilitates forest-sector economic development in the State of Louisiana. The Community is much more than a directory of Louisiana companies that manufacture wood products. For the first time, wood products buyers anywhere in the world can search online for Louisiana manufacturers that meet their unique purchase needs. Louisiana manufacturers can also use the Community to search for raw materials suppliers and equipment to support their companies. Each major forest sector segment in the Community has a Request For Proposal tool that facilitates targeted product buying and selling. Links in each section leads Community members and visitors to additional information. The Louisiana Forest Products Community is a collaborative effort of key institutions in industry, government, and academia with a common objective of promoting sustainable forest industry development in Louisiana.
